Cognik

Your practice. Your data.

Privacy policy

Cognik keeps your practice data on your device, with optional sync through your private iCloud account. Here is what happens in the app and on this website.

1. Scope and contact

This policy covers the Cognik app and cognik.app. For privacy questions or requests about information you have shared with us, contact [email protected].

2. Your practice data

Cognik stores practice sessions, answers, saved questions, progress and preferences locally on your device to provide its learning features. You do not need to create a Cognik account. We do not operate a server that receives your practice history.

3. Optional iCloud sync

If you turn on iCloud sync, completed sessions, progress and study settings can sync between your devices using Apple CloudKit and your private iCloud account. Unfinished sessions stay on the device where you started them. Apple processes iCloud data under its own privacy policy. Turning off sync keeps the data already on your device and does not by itself delete existing iCloud data.

4. Purchases and Apple services

Apple handles App Store downloads, payments and subscriptions. Cognik uses verified purchase records from Apple to check access to paid features. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple may process purchase and diagnostic information according to its policies and your device settings.

5. No advertising or tracking

Cognik does not include advertising, tracking pixels or third-party analytics SDKs. We do not sell your personal information or use your practice activity to build advertising profiles.

6. When you contact us

If you email us or choose to share an in-app feedback report, we receive your email address, message and any information or attachments you include. A feedback report may contain the exercise and answer details needed to investigate your question. Sharing is initiated by you. Your email provider and our email provider, Google, process the message to deliver and store it. We use it to respond and resolve support requests, keep it only as long as reasonably needed for that purpose or legal obligations, and you can request its deletion.

7. This website

This website uses no advertising, analytics, tracking cookies or contact forms. Its light or dark appearance automatically follows your device settings. Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site and may process technical request data, such as IP addresses and request headers, to operate and secure its service under its own privacy policy.

8. Retention, deletion and your choices

You can delete saved sessions in Progress and control iCloud sync in the app’s settings. Removing the app deletes its local data, but does not necessarily remove copies in iCloud or device backups; manage those through Apple’s settings and support. Deleting the app or practice history does not cancel a subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions through your App Store account. For information you have sent to support, contact us to request access, correction or deletion, or to exercise other applicable privacy rights. You may also contact your local data protection authority.

9. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when Cognik’s features or data practices change and show the new date above. Material changes will also be communicated through the app or its release notes where appropriate.
