Which paper this guide covers
This is the Policía Nacional Subinspector promotion 26 paper in Cognik’s archive, an internal-promotion paper rather than a new-officer entrance test. Its booklet does not state an exam year, and we have not verified one. Promotion 26 does not mean the year 2026.
This guide analyses the reviewed edition in Cognik. Its source is an unofficial reproduction. Counts and timings describe that copy and do not predict a later exam.
How many questions and parts are there?
The reviewed edition contains 75 questions. The first part has questions 1–50, four choices per item and 25 minutes. The second has questions 51–75, three choices per item and 13 minutes. The copy includes separate instructions and a worked example before the second part.
| Part | Questions | Minutes |
|---|---|---|
| Mixed questions (1–50) | 50 | 25 |
| Code and clues (51–75) | 25 | 13 |
Which question types appear?
We grouped each question by its main task and counted it once. This is an editorial classification for planning practice, not an official syllabus or a breakdown of marks. The question numbers let you check each group in the archived edition.
Calculation and number patterns form 21 of the first 50 items, or 42%; figure series add ten. The six code-and-table questions in this first part are distinct from the 25 code-and-clues questions in part two. Those 25 make up one third of the full paper’s item count, not a verified scoring weight.
| Main task | Total | Numbers |
|---|---|---|
| Calculation and number patterns | 21 | 3, 12–14, 20–32, 38, 41, 47–48 |
| Codes and tables | 6 | 2, 33–37 |
| Word tasks | 5 | 1, 39–40, 49–50 |
| Deduction and relationships | 3 | 4–6 |
| Word and character counting | 5 | 7–11 |
| Figure series | 10 | 15–19, 42–46 |
The chart summarises 50 classified questions. The task types and exact question numbers are in the table.
How long does each part last?
25 minutes for 50 questions gives an average of 30 seconds each. In part two, 13 × 60 ÷ 25 gives 31.2 seconds per item. The two parts total 38 timed minutes. Their similar averages do not make their methods interchangeable.
Part-two clues require position checks and, when patterns repeat, quantity checks across the whole final code. A code that looks close can fail one of those conditions. Treat this as a deduction task, not the same task as spotting changed characters in Básica 38.
What to practise from this paper
Use both parts in your preparation. A mixed practice session alone will not rehearse the second part’s clue rules, and repeating code puzzles alone leaves the first part’s calculations, words and figures uncovered.
- Work through the second part’s instructions without time pressure. Explain how a same-place clue, a move clue and a removed occurrence affect an offered code.
- Build a mixed first-part set including figures, number patterns, calculations, word order and code tables. Record which task transition slows you down.
- Then rehearse each part with its own timer. Compare mistakes and unfinished questions by task, and do not assume spare time transfers between parts.
An original practice example
This original example uses the app’s code-and-clues rules, not an archived exam item. A–D stand for four circle patterns. ■ means stay, □ means move and – means remove that occurrence. A pattern with a removed occurrence must remain exactly as often as its marked copies; otherwise it must remain at least that often. The initial code is on the left and the clues on the right.
Scores and answer-key cautions
Our review retained all 75 keys printed in the reproduction. Some figure items, including 19 and 43, rely on reviewed interpretations. That does not establish that a tribunal annulled them; an editorial note and an official annulment are different claims.
The historical scoring rule and pass threshold have not been verified, so Cognik shows results without estimating an official pass. The archived second part has three choices, while new code-and-clues practice in the app has four; practising the same rule does not reproduce every exam condition.
